Above was my inspo for the space and the bed.

Step 1

The First things first we have to build all of the pieces. But not build it together. This took me about 30 mins.

Step 2

Once built the bed. I then measured and cut dowels to the size and length I need. I went with a 3/8” dowel. I then glued and clamped them down and allowed them to completely dry. (About 24hrs). This will also be where you add the decorative trim pieces.

Step 3

Once everything is completely dry! I think using the paint sprayer to apply the furniture/wood primer. I did about 3 coats to insure all wood grain was covered. I also went through a caulked all the edges that needed to be filled.

Pro Tip: I wish I would have done this in the being. I drilled in using screws into large planks and the bottom of the pieces we built. This stands up the parts we need stand up for even coats.

Step 4

Now that we have done the primer it’s time to paint. The paint I used needs several layers. About 3. Once we are done I let this dry overnight to ensure that the paint is 100% dry before adding top coat.

Step 5

While that drys I get the stair pieces and stain to my desired stain color. I ended up using Early American .

Step 6

Now that everything is dry. I then added a top coat of Polyacrylic in clear matte. Allowed that to dry for 24hrs.

Once dry! I put it all together and here is the final LOOK!!! Comment below what you think!
