Kids Tent!

If you watched my stories, in my home we have had “Couch Gate!” lol Basically, my kid kept pushing off all the cushions on my couch. Which had become a real pain in the butt! So my fix for that was to make a tent!

Tools you will need:

  • Drill

  • 5/8” Spade bit

  • Saw (Chop or Circular Saw will work)

  • Hammer

  • Cloths (for staining)

What you will need:

  • 4 – pieces of Wood cut to 2 x 48” Long

  • 3 – 5/8” Dowels

  • 3 yards of fabric

  • Small basic nails

  • Wood Glue

  • Wood Stain

  • Wood Conditioner

Step 1 & 2:

Cut wood to 48” long. Then on one edge cut the bottom at a 15 degree angle.

Step 3:

Drill holes for dowels. Using the spade bit. I would the measure 2” in on each end and center. Drill a hole on each board both top and bottom.

Step 4:

With the excess wood I had I cut two Pieces with a 15 degree. Nailed and glued them in. About an inch under the dowel hole. But this is not a necessary step. I did this just so that it never folds flat when put together.

Step 5:

I used select pine so I didn’t need to sand more than. One pass of 220 G.

Step 6:

I then conditioned and stained each piece.

Step 7:

This is where I can become a little more tricky. Using the fabric I layered it over the top measuring an for the loop which would add about 2” on each side. Then sew the edges. Then feed through the bottom loops. Put it back together.

*TIP: if you don’t want to sew this you could totally just staple them in.

And here it is!!! Ready for the holidays!
