Cut and Sand
-Take 1X1 wood
-Cut 4x 6in long for each of the squares, 4x 18in long, 4x 12in long, and 4x 6in for the sides of the smallest lantern.
. 
Stain
– Choose the desired stain and stain each of the pieces the desired color.
– Allow to dry overnight.
. 
Assemble
– Create the squares first using the 6in pieces, wood glue them into place and then secure them with nails.
– Take the longer pieces and line them up with the corners of the squares, wood glue them then nail into place.
-Attach second square to the bottom and you’re done!
